What I Love

  • Waking up to pink sunrises as the sun fills the valley and Mt. Tam turns golden.
  • Absolute privacy in every room and garden.
  • The quiet that comes with acreage.
  • The sound of children playing soccer on the fields below on Saturday mornings.
  • Always open windows and doors provide steady fresh flow of air. Screens not needed, so few bugs.
  • The steady amount of sunlight keeps the house warm (and utility bills low).
  • Views from every room from the vistas of the valley and Mt. Tam to the roses in the garden.
  • Family croquet games on the upper lawn.
  • Endless jumpee parties on the lower lawn.
  • Hosting school functions and large parties effortlessly, the flow of guests natural and easy.
  • Making use of all four ovens at large family gatherings.
  • Table tennis matches in the large garage.
  • The luxury of a roomy driveway with plenty of parking.
  • Kind, quiet neighbors - watching each other’s children, pets and houses over the years.
  • Bubble baths in the extremely large master tub: time alone as well as watching a tub full of children play after a sandy beach day.
  • Walking into the roomy pantry and finding just what I need.
  • Returning from Costco runs to the ease of the garage refrigerator and storage cabinets.
  • Walking my daughter to school.
  • Easy access on and off the freeway, avoiding traffic congestion is simple from here.
  • 11 minutes to Chrissy Field for beach days. Seminary exit coming from the City means getting off before the traffic slows.
  • Fog-falls: the fog flows like a waterfall over the distant hills and we watch as we sit under a blue sky and warm sun.
  • Sunset drinks by the fountain.
  • Stargazing from the spa and master patio at night in total privacy.
  • 11 minutes to Chrissy Field for beach days.

Floor/Site Plan

Neighborhood

Family-friendly Mill Valley is all about schools and sports. Nestled at the foot of Mount Tamalpais, homes in the Marin County city range from 500-square-foot hunter's cabins to multimillion-dollar mansions tucked away on winding, narrow lanes under the redwoods. Coffee is king in Mill Valley. Downtown, three separate coffee shops do a brisk business. At the Depot, as the sunny town center is called, moms with strollers, kids on tricycles, and teenagers kicking hacky sacks relax in the open-air plaza, which now houses an independent bookstore and cafe. The Depot is also a jumping-off spot for hikers and mountain bikers heading up the slopes of Mount Tamalpais. Nightlife in Mill Valley is anchored by Sweetwater Music Hall, which hosts many well-known musical acts. As the groomed playing fields at the community center attest, sports are big in Mill Valley, with soccer, baseball, and lacrosse leagues all popular.
